It's the game both teams probably wanted.

The St. Augustine Prep ice hockey team defeated Red Bank Catholic 5-1 on Wednesday to advance to Friday's Southern Conference Red Division championship game against rival Bishop Eustace.

Eustace, which defeated the Hermits twice during the regular season, defeated Toms River North 3-2 in Wednesday's other semifinal. The Hermits haven't beat Bishop Eustace in two years.

The decisive contest is set for 5 p.m. at the Vineland Ice Arena.

"We were all looking ahead to Eustace in the championship," said junior forward Dominic Morrone, who had three assists Wednesday.

Kevin Crowe, Jeff Buvinow and Zach Stern each scored to give the Hermits a 3-0 lead after the first period.

In the Bishop Eustace victory, Tyler Hancock had a goal and two assists. Al Wooley and Brad Schuler also scored.

Eustace takes a 13-game winning streak into Friday's final.
